What Will You Learn?
Course Overview: This course is part of the Doctorate Degree Program in Bereavement at the School of Grief Education at AITU.
It is a 6-hour semester course that must be completed within 6 weeks.
This course introduces you to the definitions of crises, their many types of occurrences, the seven-stage model of crisis intervention, and its application across all types of crises.
Course Assignments: There are 23 assignments for which the student has one mandatory book as material. The student has to make use of the materials from the complete program and what they seem appropriate and relevant material located elsewhere in the public domain.
Course Objectives:
The aim of this course is to give a standard of care and treatment for persons in trauma and acute crisis. Subjects covered are specific guidelines, practice techniques, protective factors, and resilience, case study applications, and crisis intervention.
