This course is part of the Accelerated Master’s program in Grief Counseling at AITU. It is a 4-hour semester course that should be completed within 6 weeks. Grief Counseling with Children and Adolescents
Grief counseling is an important job because it helps people move past their grief and live happier lives. It is particularly important when the people being treated are children and adolescents. If a child experiences loss and grief, it is imperative they receive the proper counseling immediately, or else it could jeopardize their emotional and behavioral development as they grow older.
If you plan to work with children and adolescents as a grief counselor, then you’ll be undertaking a very critical but essential career choice. You’ll have the ability to help children make peace with their grief and move forward happily and healthily. Not many people get to have this kind of impact on a child’s life. That is what makes a career in grief counseling so rewarding.
Grief Counseling with Children and Adolescents is a required course of the Accelerated Master of Grief Counseling Degree program at American International Theism University. The course is designed to help students learn how to assess and evaluate the grief of a child effectively. Once students know how to develop an understanding of a child’s grief, they will learn how to establish a working relationship with them in a meaningful and life-changing way.
Most children are brought to grief counselors if they experience loss, trauma, grief, or bereavement. The future of a child’s early emotional and mental development could be in your hands. If you have a passion for helping children and adolescents get over their grief, you will benefit from taking this course. It is also a course that offers four required credits toward your Master in Grief Counseling Degree.
It should take you approximately six weeks to finish the Grief Counseling with Children and Adolescents course. All of the classwork is conducted online. You’ll never need to worry about showing up at any particular time because you get to set your own schedule for when you attend class.
