What Will Learn?
Philosophy of Education is a course that provides an opportunity to examine some of the important ideas of the major philosophers of educational practice. The course will provide opportunities for students to develop a logical and practical philosophy of education. The course will also provide opportunities to examine and analyze important aspects of your own educational system regardless of where you operate and regardless of the prevailing cultural, ideological and material backgrounds. This is a 4 credit hour course and is allotted 6 weeks of time.
Philosophy of Education
Education is not an exact science. The fundamentals of education are derived from the philosophies of other people. In fact, the definition of education and the various methods and objectives of education are all based on practical philosophies from the biggest educational philosophers in the world.
Philosophy of Education is an advanced educational course of the Accelerated Master of Education Degree program at American International Theism University. It provides you with an opportunity to examine some of the most important ideas to come from the biggest philosophers of education. Based on these ideas, you can create your own educational philosophies for the students of your particular education system.
You’ll have opportunities to examine and analyze the most important aspects of your own educational system regardless of where you operate and the prevailing cultural, ideological, and material backgrounds of your students. Even though broader philosophies of education will be examined, you’ll learn to apply a more sociocultural context to your own philosophies as well.
When you have completed the Philosophy of Education course, you will be able to develop a logical and practical philosophy of education. You can apply this knowledge to the education system of virtually any culture or society in the world. It doesn’t necessarily need to be an American education system either.
