What Will Learn?

This course provides an overview of some of the important features of an education system. It allows opportunities to examine and analyze important aspects of your own educational system, regardless of where you operate and regardless of the prevailing cultural, ideological and material backgrounds. Topics will be discussed from various theoretical and ideological perspectives, but will focus largely from an educational perspective. This is a 4 credit hour course and is allotted 6 weeks of time.

Foundations of Education

The foundations of education come from a lot of different sources. These foundations have legal, sociological, philosophical, curricular, historical, cultural, and ideological influences on them. That is why the educational system is different in every country in the world. If you can understand these differences and the foundations which make them different, then you can better understand how to teach the students of a particular country or society.

Foundations of Education is an advanced educational course of the Accelerated   Master of Education Degree program at American International Theism University. This course provides an overview of some of the important features of an education system. It gives opportunities for students to examine and analyze the most important aspects of their own educational system, regardless of their locations or their cultural ideological and material backgrounds.

Since Foundations of Education is a 100% online course, we usually have students from many different walks of life who take the course. There will be topics discussed about education from various theoretical and ideological perspectives, but the focus is largely from an educational perspective.

You will leave the course with an understanding of education and the foundations that make it possible. After exploring the evolution of education and how diversity has shaped it, you’ll understand how it has influenced education standards, curriculums, student assessments, and other trends in the education field.

Foundations of Education gives educators the knowledge necessary to create school curriculums and student learning policies and guidelines. Once you comprehend the elements that make up the foundations of education, you can apply this knowledge to a senior role in the education field. For instance, you could use this knowledge as a principal, college dean, college president, or some other authority figure in education.

The Foundations of education course offers four credits toward your Master of Education. You have up to six weeks to finish the course, which should be plenty of time for online students. Instructors are available via email whenever you need them.
